We manufacture our humidity sensors from thermoplastics using injection molding. These can also be combined with temperature sensors. It is well known that plastics are poor heat conductors. We modify the thermal conductivity of the thermoplastics in the temperature sensor so that they become good to very good thermal conductors and replace metallic sensor designs as needed. We embed the humidity sensors into the design in such a way that the relative humidity reaches the integrated sensor element via open ports. Different humidity sensors, e.g. analog or digital sensors, can be integrated into the polymer housing. Electrical contacting to the customer environment is achieved by injection molding integration and use of the familiar connector systems.
